Nic East

Designing always came easy to Nic East. In grade school, he was the one who decorated the room, drew the illustrations and made models from scraps. They said he would probably become an artist when he grew up.

Nic has studied many of the masters of stained glass design, and can create new work in their styles. More importantly, he has been able to use the skills learned in other disciplines: wood working, framing, metal craft, soldering and of course, sculpture. His newest work is a synthesis of divers materials into a sculptural orchestration of glass. Many of these pieces are three dimensional and humorous in content, and derive their titles from whimsy and allegory, as well as fantasy.
